Byssus è una fibra animale fine ed estremamente delicata prodotta da un mollusco mediterraneo (la cozza). L'arte della tessitura era già padroneggiata dagli egiziani.
L'ultima persona a padroneggiare quest'arte è a Sant'Antioco.
Potete visitare il museo di via regina Margherita dedicato alla storia di questo materiale tanto raro quanto originale e prezioso!

Le byssus est une fibre d’origine animale fine et extrêmement délicate produite par un mollusque de méditerranée (la moule).
L’art de le tisser était déjà maîtrisé par les Egyptiens.
La dernière personne à maîtriser cet art se trouve à Sant’Antioco.
Vous pourrez visiter le musée via regina Margherita consacré à l’ histoire de ce matériau aussi rare qu’original et précieux!

The byssus is a very delicate fiber coming from the mussel, a mollusk of Mediterranean Sea .
The art of "weaving" was already mastered by the Egyptians.
